AFCM commits to protect, preserve and enrich God-given faith, religious traditions of the Filipino faithful and to serve increasing pastoral needs through the COUNCIL OF THE LAITY formalized by Rev. Fr. Ben Ebcas following a comprehensive position audit, observation, data gathering and group assessment. AFCM strengthens the CHURCH presence and perpetuates Christ’s Mission among Filipino communities through solemn worship, prayers, accurate teachings, formation, service, solidarity and belongingness. Five MINISTRIES comprise the Council of Laity, an advisory body to the Mission Director – WORSHIP, EDUCATION/ FORMATION, SOCIAL CONCERNS, TEMPORALITIES and YOUTH.

The Philippine Canadian Charitable Foundation (PCCF) together with the Archdiocesan Filipino Catholic Mission (AFCM) and the Our Lady of Assumption (OLA) Catholic Church, had a Christmas Party attended by 350 volunteers and supporters, on Saturday, December 13th, 2014, at the OLA Hall at 2565 Bathurst Street in Toronto.

Those in attendance enjoyed the food, games, gifts, raffle prizes, and the entertainment numbers. Food donations during the event filled six boxes which will be shipped to the Tacloban Orphanage and funds totaling to $7,612.30 was raised for the OLA Adoration Chapel.

Philippine Canadian Charitable Foundation (PCCF) headed by Romy Rafael  teamed up with the AFCM Temporalities Ministry Chair, Rosemer Enverga to fund the building of the fence on the south side of the parking lot of Our Lady of the Assumption (OLA) Church, home of the Archdiocesan  Filipino Catholic Mission (AFCM).

OLA is the spiritual home  for the tens of  thousands of Filipino Canadians from all over the Diocese of Toronto.  The FilipinoMission headed by Fr. Ben Ebcas serves the Filipino Community not onlyspiritually  but also offers variouscommunity services most notably the operation of the Juana Tejada Lounge thatcaters to caregivers.  The fence will bea welcome addition to OLA to further enhance neighborhood harmony and security.
True to the advocacy for Charity , PCCF Donated $3,500.00 total with an anonymous couple donated $500.00 and  AFCM Temporalities raised $1,845.00 to fully pay the cost to build the fence.  PCCF is the organizer of the Miss Philippines Canada , Little Miss Philippines Canada,  Mrs. Philippines Canada and the  Pinoy Fiesta and Trade Show sa Toronto, hence, your support to those activities generated the funds for the Donation.  Indeed,  you had fun and helped at the same time . The $3,500.00 given to the Fence Fund  is just the initial donation of PCCF, more donations to worthy causes for our kababayans will be announced .

As a result of the success of the 
Pinoy Fiesta & Tradeshow sa Toronto 2012, PCCF was able to donate $3,500 to the AFCM. Working together with the Knights of Columbus, a fence was built in the Our Lady of Assumption Parish Parking lot.
