AFCM raises over $230K for Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda Relief

January 12, 2014

Through the successful appeal of Father Ben Ebcas, individuals and communities from all faiths and cultures united to help the millions of Filipinos impacted by Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda last November, 2013.  Special thanks to the Canadian Government of who doubled all eligible donations to this worthy cause, the volunteers of the Our Lady of Assumption Church, Rosemer Enverga chair of the Archdiocesan Filipino Catholic Missions (AFCM) and to the community!

Solicitation of over $230,000 that was sent through Sharelife, matched dollar for dollar by the Government of Canada. In two weeks time, the total donation to the affected areas reached over 16 million pesos. A great work indeed by everyone who donated and volunteered to make a difference for the community.
