PCCFs 13th Year Anniversary Gala

TORONTO, ON – The Philippine Canadian Charitable Foundation (PCCF) celebrated its 13th Year Anniversary at a sold out Gala on November 11th, 2023. Hosted at the Sts. Peter and Paul Banquet Hall, the evening brought together over 400 guests, supporters and community leaders who travelled from as far as Barrie, Kawartha Lakes, Hamilton and Mississauga.

Distinguished guests included Consul General Angelica Escalona, Senator Victor Oh, MPP Aris Babikian, MPP Vijay Thanigasalam, Honorary Consul General to Malaysia Henry Lee, regional Chair Steve Yamada and representatives from the TCDSB including Trustee Garry Tanuan were in attendance.

Rosemer Enverga, President of PCCF expressed her gratitude during her speech, “as we celebrate another milestone, my heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated volunteers, dignitaries and to everyone here who make events like this possible. Let’s continue to have fun, while helping others! MABUHAY ang PCCF!”

The Gala also honoured awardees of the Senator Tobias C. Enverga Medal of Excellence which recognizes trailblazers in their respective fields. Shortly before the late senator’s passing, he conceptualized and commissioned the creation of these medals. This year’s recipients were Dr. Ashleigh Molloy, Judith Gonzales and Sir Chris Jones who have been impactful contributions in Education, the wellbeing of Caregivers and Multiculturalism.

Hosted by former Miss Teen Philippines Canada Alexa Grant and Patrick Dooc, the evening was highlighted by captivating performances from the Scarborough Ontario Seniors Association (SOSA), Negrense, Multicultural Group, LDLEL (Let’s Dance and Enjoy Life) and BFNE. The elegance of the fashion show took centre stage as beauties from the Little Miss Philippines Canada, Miss Philippines Canada and newly crowned Mrs. Philippines Canada pageant contestants dazzled audiences. Multi-award singer Lilac Cana performed while the models showcased their Filipino-inspired outfits.

Since 2010, the officers and members of PCCF have worked tirelessly to organize events such as the Pinoy Fiesta & Trade Show sa Toronto and the Pageants with a Cause. PCCF has been fulfilling its mission to uplift the lives of the needy through development projects in the Philippines such as the PCCF TALA Village, distribution of relief goods and other initiatives aimed to empower our needy kababayans.
